Do I have to take my car to a "preferred" or "Blue Ribbon" shop just because of a special relationship they may have with the insurance company?

No. You have the right to choose the shop of your choice. There is no law requiring you to have your vehicle repaired at these shops. It is your vehicle and you should choose a collision repair shop based on their reputation, skills, service, knowledge, and guarantee of their workmanship.

How many estimates do I need?

One. Most insurance companies will send an adjustor to inspect the damage or send you to a drive-in claims center. Once you receive the insurance adjustors estimate take this to the shop of your choice.

You can also leave your vehicle at our shop and have the insurance adjustor inspect the vehicle at our location. Be sure to give the Collision repair shop the insurance estimate so they will know which parts have been approved. Also the repair shop will work with the insurance company for any additional parts or labor so they can be reimbursed for these charges.

How about a rental car?

First, you should check with your insurance company to see if you have rental coverage if you are paying for the repairs. Should you have rental your claims representative or insurance adjustor will set this up for you. We will assist you with this but the insurance company must confirm the reservation. If another person’s insurance company has accepted liability for your repairs, you should be entitled to a rental car, but again the insurance company must set this up.

REMEMBER- THE INSURANCE COMPANY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING FOR THE REPAIRS TO YOUR VEHICLE…THEY DON’T REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE.
